Hearing Ear Doodle - "Angel"

Angel is from Coco and Gingers June 2005 litter and has been selected to go into training as a hearing ear dog with
Pacific Assistance Dogs.  We have donated her to PADS and her training expenses are being sponsored by the Royal
Bank.  Thanks also to Van Isle Veterinary in Courtenay for donating her first exam and vaccination.

She has been named "Angel," which means "ten shillings".  She lives with one of the PADS trainers Pam in Vancouver.
Here is the most recent update on her progress:

Oct 27 2005

" Even as a very young pup of 14 weeks old, Angel is very tuned in to the world around her. The highlight of her day
is getting to work on her sounds - so far she has mastered responding to a beeping timer and the ringing telephone, and
she is currently working on the smoke alarm. When Angel hears one of her sounds, she has been trained to run over to
her trainer, jump up onto their leg to get their attention (barking for attention doesn't work when you're deaf!)and lead
them back to the sound, where there just happens to be a yummy jackpot of treats for her efforts."

UPDATE: Angel graduated as a trained Hearing Ear Dog on 31 March 2006.  We hope to post grad photos of her soon
